Chineke! at the YOLA Symposium

Chineke!'s Learning and Participation Manager Ishani O'Connor is currently in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Concert Hall for the 2019 ​YOLA national symposium​.

YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) is a music programme for 80 students in LA which provides free instruments, intensive music instruction, academic support and leadership training, run by the LA Philharmonic.

Over the course of the symposium, participants from around the world share best practices, network with their peers, and explore the challenges and opportunities of empowering young people and communities through music.

Ishani is hoping to bring back insights and partnerships from the symposium that will feed into the Chineke! Learning & Participation programme. We can’t wait to put these ideas into practice!
