Ruby Aspinall performing at World Harp Congress 2020
Chineke! principal harpist Ruby Aspinall has been chosen to perform at the World Harp Congress in Cardiff in July 2020.
The World Harp Congress is led by Artistic Director Catrin Finch. From 24 - 30 July 2020, harpists and harp enthusiasts from around the world will visit Cardiff for an intensive week of recitals, concerts, lectures, masterclasses and workshops, all celebrating the versatility and ingenuity of the harp.
Ruby Aspinall enjoys a busy freelance career and performs as a soloist and orchestral musician, and also composes for the harp. She made her debut with Chineke! at the 2017 BBC Proms.
Ruby won a Leverhulme Scholarship to study with Charlotte Seale at The Purcell School of Music, and later trained at Trinity College of Music, London with Sioned Williams and Gabriella Dall’Olio for her degree.
Orchestras she has worked with include the ENO, ENB, BRB,& USO. Abroad she has worked Holland, Spain Belgium and Japan. U.k venues that Ruby has performed at include The Royal Albert Hall, The Coliseum, The Barbican, St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Sadlers Wells, Snape Maltings Aldeburgh, The Palace Theatre Manchester, The Camden Round House, & The Institute For Contemporary Arts. Ruby is the Principal Harpist of The Chineke! Orchestra and The Meridian Ensemble.
